Mark G. Ballif, M.D.

Since founding The Mount Ogden Eye Center many years ago, Dr. Ballif has led it to become the most prominent eye center in northern Utah. An Ogden native, he graduated from Weber State University and The University of Utah School of Medicine before training in eye surgery at The Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Ballif currently is medical director of The Mount Ogden Surgical Center and is considered one of the finest eye surgeons in the nation by his peers. He treats nearly all forms of eye disease but has special interest in laser vision correction and modern cataract surgery.


Scott O. Sykes, M.D.

Dr. Scott Sykes is a prominent leader in the field of eye surgery who has successfully performed tens of thousands of eye surgeries and educated numerous other eye doctors across the country regarding new surgical procedures and technologies. He is an honor graduate of the famed Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and University of California at San Francisco, as well as Brigham Young University. He serves as President-Elect of the Utah Ophthalmology Society and also serves on the teaching faculty of both The University of Utah and Weber State University. A pioneer in new and developing technologies, he was among the first surgeons in the country to perform LASIK surgery and is one of few surgeons in the country who performs certain complex investigational surgeries such as artificial iris implantation. He has particular interest in complex cataract surgery, corneal transplantation, LASIK surgery and other elective vision correction procedures. Dr. Sykes is an accomplished marathon runner, skier, and mountain biker, but his greatest love is his wife and five children.

Michael B. Wilcox, M.D.

A Davis County native, Dr. Wilcox graduated from Weber State University. He earned his degree from the Medical University of South Carolina where he recieved many scholarships, honors, and awards, including national recognition for his intra ocular lens technology research. He completed his Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Utah, where he now teaches surgery to resident ophthalmologists as an Adjunct Professor. Dr. Wilcox enjoys general eye care with special interest in advanced cataract surgery, LASIK and eyelid surgery. He lives in Davis County with his wife and sons. They enjoy skiing, camping, and other outdoor recreation.


John D. Armstrong, M.D.

Dr. Armstrong received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Tennessee. He completed his Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Alabama. Following his term in the U.S. Air Force, he practiced comprehensive ophthalmology in Ogden for ten years. Dr. Armstrong then completed a Fellowship in Diseases and Surgery of the Retina and Vitreous and became an Assistant Professor in Ophthalmology at the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences, where he was the Director of Retina Service. In addition to years of teaching and training ophthalmologists and optometrists Dr. Armstrong has lectured at regional, national and international meetings. He is the author of multiple articles in medical journals. Dr. Armstrong is the proud father of four children and enjoys golf and snow skiing. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Member of the American Society of Retina Specialists.

Robert W. Wing , M.D.

Dr. Wing earned his medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine. He then completed his Residency in Ophthalmology at the University of California at Davis, in Sacramento. As a surgeon Dr. Wing practices comprehensive ophthalmology and enjoys cataract and lasik vision correction surgery. He is Board Certified in Ophthalmology and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Wing resides in Davis County with his family and has practiced in Bountiful for 25 years.


Dane F. Dansie, O.D.

From his position as President for the Utah Optometric Association to teaching eye doctors at universities in Utah and California, Dr. Dansie constantly advances the field of eye care. A native of the Ogden area, Dr. Dansie graduated with honors from Weber State University and the Southern California College of Optometry. Dr. Dansie brings his expertise to the Mount Ogden Eye Center where he serves as Optometric Director. He also serves as staff optometrist for the Salt Lake City Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He is a member of several professional organizations including the American Optometric Association and the National Association of VA Optometrists.


Keith Linford, O.D.

Dr. Keith Linford is a native of Utah, and presently resides in Ogden. He attended Brigham Young University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology. He received a Doctor of Optometry, Cum Laude, from the Southern California College of Optometry. While there he served as a Teaching assistant and was an officer of the Beta Sigma Kappa honor society. He has maintained a private office in Ogden for the past 19 years. He has been associated with the Mount Ogden Eye Center for the past four years, and serves as Contact Lens Consultant. He served as Peer Review Chairman for the Utah Optometric Association from 1985 to 1993 and a State President for the 1995-1996 year. He is a member of the American Optometric Association. He currently is serving as a Course Reviewer for the National Council for Optometric Professional Education. He is active with various community associations and church groups, having been President of the Ogden Lions Club and named a Melvin Jones Fellow. He is active in the Boy Scouts of America and enjoys coaching soccer with his children. His family, wife Diane and four children, enjoy camping and boating together.


Justin C. Holt, O.D.

Dr. Holt is a Utah native and graduated from Brigham Young University. He then attended Optometry School at the Inter American University of Puerto Rico, College of Optometry. After spending four years of Optometry School San Juan, Puerto Rico, Dr. Holt is just as comfortable seeing patients in Spanish as he is English. Upon graduation from Optometry School, he completed a residency at the University of Utah Moran Eye Center and Veterans Hospital. Now serving as adjunct clinical faculty at multiple Optometry Schools, he specializes in the fitting of contact lenses with particular interest in the areas of keratoconus and eyes with severe or irregular astigmatism. Dr. Holt now lives in Syracuse with his wife and three boys.
